Log Book, carte grise for 82 Familia

Hi Folks,
I've just bought a 82 Eriba Familia with french plates.
The problem is the log book was lost many years ago. I went to the sous prefecture in La Roche sur Yon and their last recorded owner was in 1998. They could not help me without a full history of owners from 1998 til today. Has anybody got a carte grise for sale ?. I live near Noirmoutier in the Vendee.

The previous Owner can get a replacement Carte-Grise.

If the person who sold the caravan to you had his name on the log book, all he has to do is declare that it's been mislaid. Look up "declaration perte carte grise" in you favourite search engine, it's a standard procedure here, (one of many -) )

-can be done in a prefecture or sous-prefecture

Maybe it's not that simple in your case ??
