Welcome Bridie, bienvenue!
I spent last week end in UK, near Birmingham, I saw many cars with caravan (or trailer) what do say?
So I am surprise to notice that the caravan registration plate number is the same like the car !!! Can you explain to me what document, title of propriety, do you have in UK when you own (town) a caravan? Because in France each caravan more than 500 kg must have his registred plate number.
Thank for your answer.

Hi eribapol!
In the UK caravans are not registered, most new caravans have a voluntary registration called CRIS but this not official government registration.
because of this there is a problem with stolen caravans in the UK. When buying a secondhand(occasion)caravan you need to be careful because there is no V5 document(carte gris)for UK caravans. So you just have to use your brain to make sure the vendor is ok.
Also there is no MOT test(Controle technique)for UK caravans. Its a bad system.

Hi
For spares and help the best place I have found is Jandi at Blackburn Rd, Addiewell, West Calder EH55 8NF
Just bought a new front window seal from them, impossible to find here in France. The french dealer I normally get help from is not responding to email now.
As for plates the law here is if the PTAC is 500kg or less you tow on the car's insurance and do not pay motorway tolls. Fortunately my old Puck is one of those but later pucks became too heavy.

Re: Écossais
Hello squeezy ,
The french dealer on august is closed because hollidays .
Try in september.
In France you can tow a trailer until ptac 750 kg with the car's insurance , limited to civil liability only .
Caravans or others trailers , belove heigth of 2 meters do not pay motorways tolls.
Above ptac 500 kg , plates and license ( ''carte grise '') specials caravan are mandatory .
Your old Puck save money for you .
It is better to keep your little Eriba for run in France .
Sincerely .
